New route! Enjoy the Doodle Trail rail trail, climb a road actually called Granny Gear Rd, and snap a photo of the historic Poinsett Bridge. This route explores the NW Pickens County region near Lake Jocassee which was the land of the Quacoshatchee Tribe.
Weather looks favorable as the day matures but chilly to start.
FOOD
The short order grill I was hoping to have lunch at mile 71 is not open on the weekends.
Recommended food stops are:
- mile 41 Dog Depot in Central or any other restaurants on the same street
- mile 93 (optional control) Echo Valley Restaurant in Cleveland. It's a gas station with a short order grill. Menu posted from Sept 2024 here
PARK: free parking near the start at Trailblazer Park
